Conditions matter

Weather, wind, waves and visibility can change from day to day. From May to September, snorkeling conditions are usually at their best. Departure times are chosen based on the day's visibility rather than a fixed schedule.

Is Pigeon Island good for beginners or non-swimmers?

Yes. Our guides stay in the water with you, and life jackets are available. Let us know if you’re not a confident swimmer when booking so we can plan the trip around you.

What's the best time of year to visit Pigeon Island?

Generally April to September, when the east coast sea is calmest and visibility is at its best. We confirm morning or evening departures based on the day’s actual conditions.

What's included in the price?

National park entry tickets, snorkeling mask/snorkel/fins, boat transportation, guided support in the water.

Do you offer family or group rates?

Yes — groups of 5 to 7 people automatically get our Group/Family Rate of LKR 18,500 per person, lower than the standard rate. No need to ask, it’s already built into the pricing.

What happens if the weather is bad on my booked day?

We monitor conditions daily and will reschedule or cancel if it’s unsafe, with a full refund if the postponement is on our end. We recommend checking in with us 24 hours before your trip.

How do I book, and what's the cancellation policy?

A 30% advance payment via bank transfer confirms your spot. Cancel 48 hours ahead for a full refund, within 24 hours for a partial fee; same-day no-shows aren’t refunded.

Is Pigeon Island different from Angel Rock snorkeling?

Yes. Pigeon Island is a longer excursion inside a national park with beach access and a wider reef area. Angel Rock is a shorter, simpler trip with a quick boat ride and direct entry into the water — no beach stop.

At Pigeon Island we saw sharks and turtles – huge ones – as well as colourful fish and beautiful corals. It was so lovely that the next day we went back for the Angel Rock sunrise snorkelling trip – it was incredible. You simply can’t visit Sri Lanka without going on this excursion with this team.

Everything was as they‘ve explained beforehand. 6am you head out to see the whales, they provide ypu water and fruits. They as well really know their stuff, always were at the right spot to actually see the whales
